Gone Fishin'

Traci and Eileen are awesome! They invited Alex and Cooper to go fishing, and even allowed Betty and Maria to tag along. We had lunch out in their backyard when we first arrived, and the boys played well together despite their age difference - Alex is 3 years old and Cooper is just about 19 months. Oh, and the dogs. Bailey and Chloe were hosting Sugar, Mugsy, and two neighbor dogs that afternoon. It was definitely a party.

Before heading to Howard Beach, each carload had a mission to accomplish. Traci secured their nephew Max, the fishing poles, and bait. Eileen and Maria stopped in at Sports Authority to pick up a functional 'Sponge Bob' fishing pole for Cooper. Upon arrival the group parked, poled, and walked over to find a sweet fishing spot. Cooper was a bit delayed in joining due to the fact that he conked out in the car en route to the water. Power nap.

Cooper picked things up quickly.
And then was able to give Traci a few pointers.

Alex had a great time. He "caught" a fish that interestingly enough looked like our bait. He was intrigues by the casting out and reeling in of the line. It was a great experience. Can't wait for Cooper to be a bit older so he can appreciate the event.

So what did we catch? Lots of seaweed and a plastic bag. Ah, NYC.
