Day At Sea (Oct 2nd)

We had a 'day at sea' all day on Friday. Woke up early to snag some sought-after deck chairs around the pool so we could have a home base to lounge on for most of the day. We all looked forward to a day without having to be anywhere.

The staff of the children's 'fun factory', earned extra money by babysitting in the evenings while we went to the shows or lounges. It was a cake job - Cooper was always asleep before they arrived, and the TV and a light could be on without the kid even stirring. The only issue? We had to lie. In-room babysitting is only open to kids 12 months and older. Yeah, we said Cooper was a year old. Sue us.

We found the staff on the ship very helpful and extremely professional. And it was always nice to head back on board after touring a port to calls of, "COOPER! Cooper is back" from members of the security team.

We lucked out with fab weather and wore shorts each and every day. The pool seemed like a good idea, but unfortunately it was not heated. Cooper didn't care, and continuously reached for the water and was giggling with excitement. Lori is a way better woman than Maria - she got into the cold water so Cooper could take a spin around its perimeter and got some much needed splashing time in that day.
One weird thing happened on our last day......
Cooper woke up with hives on his leg. We originally thought he had a couple of bug bites, but these big, raised splotches went away as quickly as they came. The reactions showed up on his arms, legs, chest over a 24 hour time period. Luckily, Cooper didn't seem to be itchy at all. So weird! We still can't figure out what caused it, but assume it was a food allergy of sorts. We just have to monitor a little more closely now that he is starting to try more and more table foods.

Lori's parents attended a cha cha class in the afternoon, and spent the good part of two hours concentrating on their footwork, turns, and spins.

And of course they mastered the dance and were the best couple in the entire class!

Quality time with Grandpa.
