Knee Surgery

Lori went under the knife last week! Yup, she needed to have surgery to repair the meniscus in her knee, take away some cartilage, and a clean things out a bit. She actually had this same procedure done about 20 years ago, so this "pro" wasn't worried at all.

Maria accompanied Lori to the Hospital for Joint Diseases, and sat with her until she was prepped and ready for surgery. Lori opted to have a spinal and not general anesthesia, so she was awake and watching the monitor the entire time. We have all been kidding around with Lori, but really - HOW ANNOYING do you think she was with all of her questions and comments during the procedure???

Maria got the call around 4pm to come to the recovery room. Since we had to wait until Lori had full feeling back until her legs before we could leave, she wasn't wheeled out until almost 6:30pm.

And Lori left with this stylish cane as a parting gift.

Swollen'ness. Battle scars. All in a day's work.
