Lilith

After our perfect day lounging on the shore, we all came home to shower/change and get in the car destined for Holmdel. What is in Holmdel you may ask? Well, the PNC Bank Arts Center. We had concert tickets for Lilith - a celebration of women in music.

The origins of 'Lilith' is from Jewish folklore, and it is said Lilith was Adam's first wife.

When Lilith would not be submissive and obedient - she left him, god sent three angels to "talk some sense" into her, she refused, and showed her strength by speaking god's true name. So how is Lilith portrayed in present times? She can be a representation of feminism and the personification of female sexuality, or she can resemble a wicked and demonic sub-creature who was rightfully punished. I guess it depends on who you were talking to at the moment, huh?

We love Lori and we love Lori's connections - we got great tickets in the 11th row on the left side. We also love Van and Van's mind - she spied open seats that were 10th row center. It was either luck or the owners of those seats lost their tickets..... Because we were happily 'centered' for the entire concert.

Sarah McLachlan.
Jill Hennessy. (long way from law & order)
Sarah Bareilles.
Indigo Girls. (and missy higgins)
All joining The Indigo Girls on stage.
Suzanne Vega.
All came on to stage for encore songs.
This guy was drinking a beer, a mixed drink, and a soda WHILE periodically taking something strange from an Altoids box. He was definitely tripping on something, and was a scary distraction that was borderline harassing to the women (including us) in the surrounding area. Although, when the line was crossed - Sarah and Maria absolutely stepped up!
Just a few more pictures.
We had such a good time at this concert! Love that we all went, and the Arts Center is such a great venue to listen to some great music. Oh right, and thank god we paid the extra money for VIP parking..... But next time we should say we only have two people and pay 10 bucks, right? Although I think we have all seen enough Heineken in 24 oz barrels for a long time!
