CHEERLEADING

Maria's team competed one more time this season, and they did an AMAZING JOB! It was a regular competition. They were the only deaf team performing. Lexington's category was High School - Coed Varsity. They took SECOND PLACE!!!

And? The first place team had 225 points, while Lex had 210. Only a 15 point difference. Pretty amazing! It was a great experience for Maria's team and for all the other kids at the competition that Saturday. The last thing that these deaf kids want would be given any sort of "sympathy" from anyone. Hard for anyone to say they didn't earn their trophy when Lex's basket-tosses and extended liberties were just as good as the stunts performed by their competitors.
