Happy Birthday Lori

* * Happy Birthday * *

* * Lori * *

This morning, Cooper gave his Mommy something that came is a little blue box.....

What do we have planned for this weekend? Friends, dinner, wine, beach, concert, good times, laughs, and relaxation. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!!!! We are all going to have a great time.

Boob Tube

Cooper has started really sitting and watching the television.
He looks like a real little boy and not a baby anymore!

He doesn't watch all that much TV, but does enjoy Sesame Street and a few other things on Nick Jr and The Disney Channel. Cooper really loves it when there is a movie on, but his repertoire isn't that long at this point. What he watches and loves:

Aladdin.

Genie, Aladdin, Jasmine, Aboo, and the magic carpet.

Toy Story.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear

Monsters, Inc

James P. "SULLEY" Sullivan and Mike Wazowski.

Ingenious

This advertisement is in the candy aisle of the grocery store near our apartment, and it is just brillliant. Doesn't it sound like it would be amazing? It took all of Maria's self-restraint and resolve to not be coerced by the power of suggestion and buy some M&Ms and some Orville Redenbacher's to "pop and mix" this up.

But the next grocery shopping trip?
We are TOTALLY having these items on our list!

The Winter's Tale

This year's Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte Theatre two shows were The Merchant of Venice and The Winter's Tale.

We missed the first show's interpreted performance because we were up at the lake, so unfortunately didn't get to see Al Pacino portray Shylock. Oh well.

In The Winter's Tale, the most famous of all stage directions, 'Exit, pursued by a bear' refers to the sudden departure of Antigonus. Don't think you could get more explicit than that. You go Shakespeare.

Maria was one in a team of tactile interpreters to provide access for a few deaf people with additional vision loss for The Winter's Tale. The show was good, but it is kind of a weird play. You can read a brief review here. The set was incredible, and really? Any show in the open-air Delacorte is a positive experience.

Phineas And Ferb

Alex and Mark are apparently all about the Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb. When were were in Disney World last month, we saw these two shirts and knew we had to pick them up for the boys. One was red and one was blue - their favorite colors. Perfect!

More Pool Party

Do we have enough chaperones?

So do you think Cooper is having a good time?

Zoe is entertaining the twins.

Jessica and Cooper.

The gang's all here.

Olivia and Romi.

Riding on the raft. Woohoo!

That's all ya got?

Look Into My Eyes

I've got you right where I want you.

Sunday

It is Sunday. SUNDAY! What do we do?

Well, COFFEE is first on the agenda. Our visitors were pulling a 'Sleeping Beauty', so we ran downstairs to pick up a couple of grandes for when they woke up. After hanging with Cooper a bit and showering and getting dressed - we were ready to tackle Day Three of this rushed tour of the city.

Cooper has expanded his car/truck obsession to include any sort of emergency vehicle. He hears the sirens and races to the window to watch the lights and say 'HI' and wave like crazy. Imagine how excited the kid was when he saw a firetruck parked on our street as we were walking to the train!

The firemen stopped at Duane Reade after coming from a call. Cooper was waving and laughing and going crazy, and the guys were just GREAT. They all were talking to him, and Cooper was pointing all excited at the truck and "talking" back to them. The guys opened the doors and let Cooper climb right in.
Michael was not going to be left out.
The guys brought Cooper into the cab and started the siren..... Cooper turned to stone. Stone. The poor kid was so overwelmed that he couldn't even handle it. The firemen were laughing at his expression. He really didn't know what to do. Pure stone.

First stop was Grand Central Station. Had lunch downstairs in the food hall, and Michael could finally have his slice of New York City pizza.

No time to hang out. Empire State Building awaits. Where are the stairs?

After our sightseeing was done, the boys bought some souvenirs for the ones they left back at home. We walked down into Chelsea for a specific tapas restaurant, but the place wasn't really conducive to Cooper's needs. No worries. Lots of places. Decided on Mexican. All good.

Cooper wants his cousin Michael to stay.

Saturday

No rest for the weary! This is New York City! Places to go and things to see! Poor poor Michael..... We know he definitely enjoyed the trip, but all the running around surely kicked the kid's ass.The two men woke up early on Saturday morning and took the train down to South Street to catch the ferry for the Statue of Liberty. Mike put in his request months ago, and was able to snag pedestal tickets.

Michael. Trying to sneak a peek up Lady Liberty's robes.

Headed down to Little Italy so Michael can experience the vibe on Mulberry Street. So many restaurants to choose from, and we all ultimately decided on Angelo's. We grabbed a table outside, grabbed the waiter, ordered some wine, and perused the menu.
After a little antipasto, Michael's yellow snapper arrived.
(and he didn't say a word for the rest of the meal) (HE LOVED IT)

Michael announced that he was full. But wait.... Is that cannoli? Mangia boy. MANGIA.
Set a new world record by making it from Mulberry (at Grand) to Second Ave (at 8th) in only minutes - all thanks go to Maria for herding us onward and upward.

Why the rush? The three Megowns had tickets to go see Stomp. And they all loved it. Great great show!

Nap Time

Yankees Boy

Bronx Bombers

Yankees game! 7pm. New stadium. Who better to support than the history-making Yankees? 27 championships. The Bronx Bombers. YANKEES!

And it is Cooper's first baseball game!

Yankees vs Kansas City Royals.

Cooper was really fascinated by the experience.

We had crazy-great seats (THANKS STACEY!!!) just 25 rows back between the home plate and the visitor's dugout. The only problem is that it was freakin' hot, and not enough was moving around. But the beer helped. (helped a lot)

Cooper snacked along side us: fries, chicken tenders, hamburgers, hotdogs, soda, beer, and lots more. Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd......
Hey wait, did I just feel a raindrop? Look at the dark clouds.
Rain delay. Here comes the grounds crew and the tarp.

And then the heavens opened up.

Worry not, the storm passed and we were Yankee'ing once more.

It was a shame that Alex Rodriguez didn't get his 600th homerun on the night we attended the game.

Better luck next game A-Rod.

But we think seeing Posada's 1000th RBI was way cool.

Yankees vs Royals
7 - 1

THE YANKEES WIN!!!!
THEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!!!
