In preparation for their annual holiday party, a week or two early they have a gingerbread-making 'open house' at their loft. Years ago it was a group of key friends that put together and decorated each edifice. But now that we are all grown up, and collectively there are a huge amount of kids - we make the youngsters do the labor! (with our support and constant supervision of course)
Cooper spent most of that afternoon walking up to kids and adults and "talking" to them. He also became quite adept at stealing gumdrops from the bowls, licking all the sugar off, and then putting them back. Precious, huh?
ANYWAY! Alan and Brian wrap each house in cellophane and a ribbon. And when guests leave the holiday party, they pick out a house to bring home with them. A really great idea. We all look forward to their Evite as the season approaches each year!
