Rain Down On Me

It was so freakin' hot and muggy at the playground, luckily and thankfully the town had the sprinklers on to give needed reprieve to the little ones running around sweating to death.

Damn! That water is COLD.
Cold, yet refreshing.

Yay! It is officially Summertime!

Playground Prince

Hey! Moms! I see a playground! I am no longer walking where you want me to go. Nope. I am now calling the shots.
Follow me! I know the way!
He climbed and slid and explored and discovered.
Defying gravity!
Is Mommy hiding from me?
Love the playground!

Shirtless Wonder

I'm too sexy for my shirt.

How big is Cooper?

That's right. I am an Adonis.

Baseball, Jumping, Family

Another perk of attending the wedding was the fact that we could stay with Mike/Jane and the kids in St. Louis. Lots of activity around the house! Cooper loved every minute of the attention and did his best to keep up with his cousins.

We watched Caroline pitch her team to victory.

It must be due to the coaching, right Mike?
Got some 'air time' in as well.
Michael is an expert flipper, but Caroline mastered it too.
Aunt Lori! Are you in? Backflip?
No? What a CHICKEN!
Grandma and Grandpa called via Skype to talk with the kids.
We also managed to take in Sam's game.
Kelly visited NYC. Michael in July. Caroline - when is your trip?

Maynard's Wedding

Yay! Jenny Maynard got married!

Jenny is a long-time friend of Lori's, and we have never seen someone with SO MANY FRIENDS, and they all just love Maynard SO VERY MUCH! She is such an amazing person, and her spirit touches everyone she meets. Truly loved by all! And WOW - she looked so very fabulous at the reception, and Greg wasn't too shabby either! We would have dropped anything to ensure we could make it to this celebration.

Greg and Jenny sharing their first dance.
Dixie sang 'At Last' for the two.
Another great part of this trip was to see Meg! Lori's roommate, sorority sister, and very dear friend in college. Haven't seen Meg in a couple of years, and she finally got to see Cooper. We hung out with her and Pat Miller and their three amazing children for most of the party. When are they coming to New York again????
So, the whole Jenny/Greg story is even deeper than just the standard couple-meets-and-falls-in-love story. These guys have known each other since high school. They dated in high school. Better yet? They went to the freakin' Junior Prom together! So, at a pivotal point during the reception, the duo disappeared - only to grace the room with their presence yet again, but IN THE OUTFITS THEY WORE TO THEIR PROM. Alas, Greg did have to "borrow" some hair to be believable, but all else was legit!

And? Of course there is more! Jenny was a bridesmaid in NO LESS than 17 weddings. 17. 17 weddings. 17 bridesmaids dresses. And what did this 'Sadie Sadie Married Lady' do? She had all of them standing at "attention" on dressforms lining the the entryway to the hall. It was hysterical and perfect and such a 'Jenny Maynard' thing to do!

It is that very last one that counts!

Oh, and lots of people paid attention to the nuptials of these two! The story was picked up by a bunch of newspapers and TV channels - first locally, and then spread around the country. How cool is that?

We love you Jenny! Congrats!

BP Sucks

It seems that the board of BP is working harder and faster on how to plug the mouth of their CEO, Tony Hayward, than the geyser spewing its contents into the Gulf of Mexico.

What does it 'BP' stand for anyway? Is is 'British Petroleum' or 'Beyond Petroleum' or what? Here are some new suggestions:
  • Better Pray
  • Bastards Playing
  • Black Paste
  • Bloody Pathetic
  • Better Prosecute
  • Beach Polluter
  • Beyond Propaganda
  • Bye Planet
  • Bad Pollution
  • Buy Polliticians
Here is a picture of the spill in the Gulf as on June 10th.
Here is the spill, superimposed on New York City.
NOW, do we all get how big of an issue this is for us all?

Please think about boycotting BP and all of their brands and companies.

They include: BP, Aral, Arco, AM/PM, Wild Bean Cafe, and Castrol.

Do your part.

Send a message.

This video is very funny. And sad. But funny. Although oh so sad.

Cooper recently decided that our apartment was a tad drab for his taste, and he wanted to pull his weight around here and help us out with our interior design needs in the place.

So? How do you like his artistic touches?

Lima Boy

You know how kids tend to pick out the lima beans from the pile of mixed vegetables on their dinner plate? And that this practice has been going on for a few millenia? All over the world?Well, not our little boy! The kid purposefully sifts through the mass of herbaceous edibles in search of these little green legumes.

For informational purposes, here is a link to more lima bean recipes than you would ever need. Please proceed with caution.

Lima Beans! Lima Beans! Lima beans! Lima beans! Lima beans!
