D-Day: February 2nd

So we finally "came out" to everyone with the announcement. As of today, we are at 13 weeks. Due date is February 2nd, although Maria is headstrong with her decision to deliver the week before and make it to the HRC dinner this year! It will work out. Always has a way of working out, right? Here is a sonogram pic from 11 weeks:

T I M B E R ! ! !

The grand decision was made by Mel and Lori to take down 4 trees is the back of the house. You don't realize how big these things are until they are laying around!

The guys had to climb these trees with their chain saws hanging off their belts. They scaled these things upwards of 70 feet.

It looked SO empty when they finally hauled off all the logs. The fire pit seems quite lonely in this new expanse. Once the stumps are out and some grass seed is put down - it will look fantastic.

And it will be nice to be able to sit in the hot tub at night and look up and see the stars..... That is, if the hot tub is working!

Van's Birthday Weekend

VAN'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

Van's birthday weekend was a blast! All in all the grand total for the weekend turned out to be 15 people. More beer bottles than one could possibly imagine. Some very appropriate touching by Georgie to anyone that would jump on her table. (and there was a waiting list!) There were also interesting science projects going on in the kitchen....

Michele was fab keeping us all well tuned at night, and Van made quite a good "sous" DJ as well. Music was amazing, with the only flaw being an occasional country song. :-) I think we stopped eating only for the dance party! Menu highlights? BBQ ribs/chicken, liquid heroin, steak, french toast, marshmallows, and Hellava Good.

I think this pic pretty much sums up the four days.
